Real-Life Alignment

A Fleet Marine Force Corpsman is a Navy Hospital Corpsman serving with Marine forces and expected to support Marines in expeditionary field conditions.

Current SOTF / V35 Use

In SOTF, this page is for corpsmen attached to normal Marine infantry or support formations. Profiles should show Navy rank, Marine attachment, and unit-associated background imagery.

Unit Association

This MOS is currently associated on the website with Navy Medicine / Fleet Marine Force. Future member profiles should use the background image tied to the member's assigned unit association.

Command Profile Rule

When this MOS appears on a command profile, the profile must preserve the member's rank, unit, and MOS at the time of each billet, award, citation, or deployment. Current MOS changes should not overwrite older deployment history.

V35 / 3/5 heritage note: HM3 Armando G. Leal Jr. was posthumously awarded the Navy Cross while serving as a corpsman with Company M, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines during Operation Swift in Vietnam. This is the real green-side legacy the SOTF corpsman track is meant to respect.

SOTF Responsibilities

These responsibilities mirror the real-world function of the MOS while keeping it usable inside SOTF MISFIT operations.

  • Support Marine squads, platoons, or companies during training and operations.
  • Manage casualty flow from point of injury to casualty collection.
  • Communicate patient status using short, clear reports.
  • Maintain enough tactical awareness to survive while treating casualties.
  • Operate as part of the Marine formation, not as an outside observer.

Pipeline Progression

This pipeline separates real-world alignment from how SOTF will apply the role in-game.

  1. Real-life route: Hospital Corpsman training followed by orders or assignment to a Marine/FMF billet.
  2. Green-side preparation: field medical training, physical conditioning, weapons and field-skills familiarity as required by assignment.
  3. SOTF route: Field Corpsman orientation, live casualty drill, line attachment evaluation, and rank/paygrade-based billet assignment.
  4. Advanced route: HM3/HM2 line corpsman, HM1 platoon corpsman, HMC medical chief, or recon-associated medical path.

Operational Employment

This MOS should be used when it gives the member a real task inside the formation. The role should support the commander, squad, airwing, recon team, medical section, or staff element in a way that matches the real-world purpose of the MOS.

Website Integration Notes

Command profiles using this MOS should follow the Kane West format: profile picture, rank and callsign, current role, deployment or prior-rank history where applicable, MOS/ADMOS, billet history, biography, qualifications, awards, citations, and a unit-associated background image.
