Real Life + Current SOTF History

Real-Life Alignment

AFSOC roles are not Marine MOSs; they are represented here as attached joint/special operations support. Real-world AFSOC personnel support missions involving airpower, special tactics, combat control, and joint coordination.

Current SOTF / V35 Use

On the current site, AFSOC pages are attachment profiles. They should be used when a storyline or operation needs joint air-ground control or a non-USMC special operations support identity.

Unit Association

This MOS is currently associated on the website with AFSOC Attachment / Airwing Integration. Future member profiles should use the background image tied to the member's assigned unit association.

Command Profile Rule

When this MOS appears on a command profile, the profile must preserve the member's rank, unit, and MOS at the time of each billet, award, citation, or deployment. Current MOS changes should not overwrite older deployment history.

SOTF Responsibilities

These responsibilities mirror the real-world function of the MOS while keeping it usable inside SOTF MISFIT operations.

  • Support air-ground integration from an attached-force perspective.
  • Coordinate air support, special tactics, or combat-control functions in scenario play.
  • Work under SOTF command integration instead of acting as a separate unit.
  • Provide specialist support only when the operation calls for a joint capability.
  • Keep command profiles clear that this is an attached role, not a standard Marine MOS.

Pipeline Progression

This pipeline separates real-world alignment from how SOTF will apply the role in-game.

  1. Real-life route: Air Force accession and special tactics or TACP/CCT training pipeline depending on career field.
  2. SOTF route: command-approved attachment, joint communications orientation, air-ground control evaluation, and mission-specific use.
  3. Advanced SOTF route: support airwing, JTAC, special operations, and cross-branch storyline missions.

Operational Employment

This MOS should be used when it gives the member a real task inside the formation. The role should support the commander, squad, airwing, recon team, medical section, or staff element in a way that matches the real-world purpose of the MOS.

Website Integration Notes

Command profiles using this MOS should follow the Kane West format: profile picture, rank and callsign, current role, deployment or prior-rank history where applicable, MOS/ADMOS, billet history, biography, qualifications, awards, citations, and a unit-associated background image.
