On the current site, Navy Medicine supports the Field Corpsman path, 2nd Recon/Force Recon attachments, and medical command-profile history. Corpsmen remain Navy personnel attached to Marine formations.
This MOS is currently associated on the website with Navy Medicine / Marine Attached. Future member profiles should use the background image tied to the member's assigned unit association.
When this MOS appears on a command profile, the profile must preserve the member's rank, unit, and MOS at the time of each billet, award, citation, or deployment. Current MOS changes should not overwrite older deployment history.
V35 / 3/5 heritage note: HM3 Armando G. Leal Jr. was posthumously awarded the Navy Cross while serving as a corpsman with Company M, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines during Operation Swift in Vietnam. This is the real green-side legacy the SOTF corpsman track is meant to respect.
