Real-Life Alignment

Real-world billet designators and special MOSs identify assignments, additional duties, or special qualifications that may sit outside a standard occupational field.

Current SOTF / V35 Use

On the current site, 8xxx roles support the staff layer of SOTF: recruiting, JTAC-style coordination, senior enlisted leadership, and specialist capability tracks tied to operations and command profiles.

Unit Association

This MOS is currently associated on the website with Force Recon / Special Operations Capability. Future member profiles should use the background image tied to the member's assigned unit association.

Command Profile Rule

When this MOS appears on a command profile, the profile must preserve the member's rank, unit, and MOS at the time of each billet, award, citation, or deployment. Current MOS changes should not overwrite older deployment history.

SOTF Responsibilities

These responsibilities mirror the real-world function of the MOS while keeping it usable inside SOTF MISFIT operations.

  • Perform the named billet function instead of treating it as a cosmetic title.
  • Support recruiting, staff work, fires coordination, senior enlisted standards, or special capability integration.
  • Document billet history accurately in command profiles.
  • Mentor lower-ranking members when the billet carries leadership responsibility.
  • Keep specialty billets linked to unit need and command approval.

Pipeline Progression

This pipeline separates real-world alignment from how SOTF will apply the role in-game.

  1. Real-life route: qualify in a primary MOS first, then earn or be assigned an additional billet, special qualification, recruiting duty, or senior leadership role.
  2. SOTF route: prove reliability, receive command approval, complete billet orientation, and hold the job consistently.
  3. Advanced SOTF route: senior profiles, staff assignments, recruiting leadership, JTAC-style support, or capability specialist assignments.

Operational Employment

This MOS should be used when it gives the member a real task inside the formation. The role should support the commander, squad, airwing, recon team, medical section, or staff element in a way that matches the real-world purpose of the MOS.

Website Integration Notes

Command profiles using this MOS should follow the Kane West format: profile picture, rank and callsign, current role, deployment or prior-rank history where applicable, MOS/ADMOS, billet history, biography, qualifications, awards, citations, and a unit-associated background image.
