History

Real Life + Current SOTF History

Real-Life Alignment

Helicopter Pilot belongs to the Marine aviation officer track. Real aviators complete officer accession, The Basic School, aviation training, aircraft-specific training, and squadron assignment.

Current SOTF / V35 Use

On the current site, 7505 connects to HMLA-269. It is also the current role for Kane West after his transition from 2nd Recon history into aviation.

Unit Association

This MOS is currently associated on the website with Airwing / HMLA-269. Future member profiles should use the background image tied to the member's assigned unit association.

Command Profile Rule

When this MOS appears on a command profile, the profile must preserve the member's rank, unit, and MOS at the time of each billet, award, citation, or deployment. Current MOS changes should not overwrite older deployment history.

SOTF Responsibilities

These responsibilities mirror the real-world function of the MOS while keeping it usable inside SOTF MISFIT operations.

  • Fly in direct support of ground operations.
  • Communicate with air control, fire support, and command.
  • Support attack aviation or utility aviation based on platform and mission.
  • Treat aviation as a support arm, not a separate highlight reel.
  • Preserve earlier deployment history when a profile includes a prior MOS.

Pipeline Progression

This pipeline separates real-world alignment from how SOTF will apply the role in-game.

  1. Real-life route: officer accession, The Basic School, naval aviation training, aircraft pipeline, fleet replacement training, and squadron assignment.
  2. SOTF route: aviation screening, airwing orientation, flight evaluation, air-ground comms check, and HMLA-269 profile association.
  3. Profile rule: aviation background image applies to current HMLA-269 members, while prior awards/citations keep the rank and unit from the time earned.

Operational Employment

This MOS should be used when it gives the member a real task inside the formation. The role should support the commander, squad, airwing, recon team, medical section, or staff element in a way that matches the real-world purpose of the MOS.

Website Integration Notes

Command profiles using this MOS should follow the Kane West format: profile picture, rank and callsign, current role, deployment or prior-rank history where applicable, MOS/ADMOS, billet history, biography, qualifications, awards, citations, and a unit-associated background image.
